Hiking requires a great deal of kinetics. Stability, strength, and endurance are all key components to a safe hike. Hiking requires a lot of repetitive movements that can begin a vicious cycle of cumulative injury. Being a mom who packs at least one kid (sometimes 2) on the trail, I understand that proper human movement is vital to my children’s safety as well as my own. Any one can hike I am a firm believer in that, but having the proper human movement and decreasing the chance for injury is another story.

Properly conditioning our bodies for the trail is something we can all do to prevent injury. As a NASM Corrective exercise specialist and NASM Women’s fitness specialist my ultimate goal is to assist other hikers in properly conditioning, recovering, and achieving their ultimate hiking goals.
